EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - There’s a new addition to the Ascension St. Vincent team - and get this, it’s a robot!

The new robotic surgical system will allow for better imaging during surgeries and quicker recovery for patients.

The surgeon is still in full control of the robotic system.

It can translate the doctors hand movements into smaller, more precise movements inside the patient’s body.

Ascension staff was invited to try out the new system to see how it works.

The president of Ascension St. Vincent tells us they’re the first hospital in the region to add this kind of technology.
