With just months to go until the Nov. 5 general election, candidates for local office in Shenandoah County have begun to report fundraising activity.

Campaign finance reports filed for the June 6–30 reporting period, as posted by the Virginia Public Access Project (VPAP), show that several Board of Supervisors and School Board candidates have already drawn sizable donations, while candidates for constitutional offices have largely yet to report raising funds.

District 1

Mark Dotson (R) has raised $7,800 so far this cycle, led by a $5,000 contribution from William B. Holtzman. Dotson also self-funded $504 and received additional support from Mark S. Johnson ($250), Randall Doyle ($200), and Mark A. Montrey ($200). Dotson is unopposed in the race.
