HAMMOND — An East Chicago man was sentenced to 18 months in federal prison for possessing two firearms while he was in the country illegally.
Arnold Flores, 30, pleaded guilty before United States District Court Senior Judge James Moody and will also face two years of supervised release. According to case documents, Flores, an undocumented immigrant with a prior felony conviction for residential entry, displayed a firearm to another vehicle's occupants in Schererville in October 2024 and possessed another firearm in Gary in February 2025. Both firearms were recovered by law enforcement.
