WASHINGTON (NEXSTAR) - The National Air and Space Museum now has five new exhibits you can see after a years-long renovation.

Over 121 years the story of flight has taken people from the sand dunes of North Carolina to the rocky surface of the moon.

“These are some milestones in that story. But you're going to go through the entire museum and see milestones,” said Dr. Jeremy Kinney of the National Air and Space Museum. The National Air and Space Museum aims to tell the entire history in this revamped, reopened museum.

“We knew we had to rebuild the building from the inside out,” said Kinney.

Dr. Jeremy Kinney says museum leaders had to make repairs because of the 2011 earthquake that damaged the museum, the Washington Monument and other buildings on the National Mall.
