Williamsburg-area families can look forward to various back-to-school events to prepare their children for the 2025-26 school year.

Williamsburg Police Department will hold a Back-to-School Drive from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at Staples, located on 1320 Richmond Road. Attendees will provide school supplies to school resource officers at the collection event. Donations boxes will also be available at Staples as well as Walgreens, located on 1309 Richmond Road, until Aug. 15.

Real People Educating Others, along with the 757 Giveback Committee, will host its 11th annual Back-to-School Community Event 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 23. Set to be held at Lafayette High School, Purcell “P.J.” Piggott, co-founder and strategic partnerships director, said the event will give children and their families
