Two local spots have officially closed their doors.

Dumpling Daughter – a local restaurant group that specializes in buns, noodles, and, most importantly, dumplings –is no longer open on West Broadway. The dumpling spot opened back in October of 2023 in the old Lee Chen spot, but was short-lived.

Right next door at 479 West Broadway, late-night pizza joint McGoo’s, which opened way back in the 1980s, has also closed as of July 31st. Work has already begun to transform McGoo’s into something new with a complete gut-job. So stay tuned for details once we know more. A little birdie told me that Southie will not be disappointed with the new restaurant replacing this Perkins Square location.
