NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE) — A man was killed in a motorcycle crash on Route 18 in New Bedford on Aug. 3, according to Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn, III.
New Bedford police responded to Route 18 in the area of Union Street around 2:30 a.m. for reports of a single vehicle motorcycle crash.
Upon arrival, officers found a Good Samaritan providing CPR to a 37-year-old man.
Officers then took over life saving measures while waiting for an ambulance.
The man was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police have not identified the man due to family notifications pending.
Investigation showed the victim lost control of his motorcycle, which was found a “short distance away” from the scene, according to the Bristol County District Attorney’s office.
