TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WFLA) — Florida's Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE, is making its way to the Bay Area.
Governor Ron DeSantis and Chief Financial Officer Blaise Ingoglia are demanding that cities and counties provide access to their buildings, budget records, and data systems. But some lawmakers inside the statehouse want to flip the script on the administration. "First of all, Governor Ron DeSantis needs to DOGE himself," State Rep. Anna Eskamani (D-Orlando) said.
State Democrats are calling Florida DOGE efforts political retaliation. "Manatee County has also been targeted, but every Manatee County commissioner that is elected currently are his opponents. These are Republican, conservative commissioners that are not endorsed by Ron DeSantis," Eskamani said.
