GREENBELT, Md. (DC News Now) -- The Maryland Department of Agriculture will be doing a mosquito control spray in Greenbelt on Tuesday.

The expansion of mosquito control services is due to the public health concern over the possibility of mosquito-borne diseases.

Ultra-Low Volume truck-based spraying will be done on Tuesday evening after 7:30 p.m. near Northway Road to control adult mosquitos.

If there is inclement weather, then the spraying will be pushed to the next available evening.

While not all mosquitos carry diseases, Marylanders are encouraged to follow these measures to prevent bites: • Wear long, loose fitting, light colored clothing • Wear insect repellents according to product labels • Avoid mosquito infested areas during prime periods of activity (between dusk and da
