Police are still trying to identify a person of interest after two people were injured in a shooting on Friday in downtown Pittsburgh.
The shooting happened at Penn Avenue and Garrison Place Friday evening . A woman was shot in the leg, and a man was shot in the arm and leg. Advertisement
At a media briefing Monday afternoon, Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 asked Mayor Ed Gainey’s press secretary, Olga Georg,e about safety downtown amid this latest act of violence.
“This is an isolated incident. And of course, any shooting, we definitely do not want to happen. But we also have the hub downtown, in which the officers were able to respond very quickly to the incident. I don't think anyone should have any fear of coming downtown,” George said.
