Maui Emergency Management Agency has issued emergency evacuations for several zones in Kaanapali due to a brush fire that broke out earlier today, mauka of Honoapiilani Highway.

As of 1:20 p.m., MEMA issued an evacuation order in Kaanapali mauka of Honoapiilani Highway and near Kakaalaneo Drive in Lahaina.

“Leave immediately,” said the alert. “There is dangerous threat to life and property. Do not delay. Evacuate now and drive away from fire. Smoke and debris may be hazardous.”

Maui residents are advised to use the Genasys protect link to view zones required to evacuate.
