ROCK SPRINGS — Getting help is just the first step to a new life.

Those who have been impacted by domestic violence don’t always seek help immediately, but when they do, they’re greeted with kindness and understanding at a local agency.

Empowering those in need is the goal of the YWCA Victims Advocacy Center.

The advocates at the VAC who continue to help victims of domestic violence recently shared two cases with the Rocket Miner.

These survivors have come a long way since leaving their abusive partners.

Gone too soon

A female client called the VAC’s 24-Hour Crisis Line seeking assistance to attempt to flee a domestic violence situation at the hands of the father of her two minor children, ages 6 and 4.
