A police officer in Michigan went above and beyond his duty by helping an older woman with her yard work after a long shift.

While patrolling, Officer Jonathan Cox of the Wyandotte Police Department noticed Dory Oliver struggling to mow her lawn while also trying to keep her balance with her walker. Advertisement

“She looked like she needed help that day, and when I stopped to ask her, she allowed me to help her,” Cox told WXYZ 's Jolie Sherman.

Oliver expressed her frustration at being unable to maintain her yard.

"You know, when you've worked all your life, and suddenly you can't, it's not a good feeling," she said.

She said she has reached out to several companies for assistance.
