BEAUMONT, Texas — The first official day of high school football season arrived Monday for teams that did not play a spring game last school year, and for the Beaumont United Timberwolves , that meant it was time to get to work.
While rain forced the freshman squad to open their practice indoors, the varsity team took advantage of clearer conditions to hit the field in helmets and jerseys. The workout marked the beginning of a new chapter for the program under first-year head coach Dre Williams.
