FAIRFAX, Va. — New video shows the moment police say a man tried to abduct a toddler from a Fairfax mall earlier this month.

According to Fairfax County Police, 26-year-old Andres Caceres Jaldin tried to abduct a little girl who had wandered away from an indoor play area at Fair Oaks Mall on July 18.

A new video of the reported abduction attempt was released on Wednesday. In the 44-second surveillance video, a man can be seen walking into the indoor playground area. A short time later, a barefoot little girl wanders toward a JCPenney, looking behind her as the man appears to follow her. The man then bends down to speak with the girl, before picking her up and walking away with her in his arms.
