PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) -- A person died in the hospital after a fire broke out at a home in Suitland Tuesday morning, according to officials.

Details are limited; however, the Prince George's County Fire Department (PGFD) said crews were dispatched around 1:43 a.m. on Aug. 5 to a fire in the 5800 block of Auth Road.

When units arrived, they discovered flames showing from a two-story single-family home.

The fire department said firefighters removed a juvenile from the home, and medics took them to the hospital in critical condition.

Despite life-saving measures, the victim, whose age is currently unknown, died, according to PGFD.

The fire department added that two firefighters sustained minor injuries but are expected to be OK.
