BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Buffalo Bisons have announced that the broadcast booth at Sahlen Field will now be named after a franchise legend.

The booth will now be named the 'Duke McGuire Broadcast Booth" after Duke McGuire, the former player and longtime color-commentator for the Bisons.

The Bisons made the announcement at a surprise ceremony before the first pitch of the game on Aug. 2, between the Bisons at the Syracuse Mets. It also happened to align with McGuire's 73rd birthday.

McGuire has held a number of positions with the franchise both on and off the field. He started as a player and former first round pick of the Detroit Tigers in 1972. Mcguire served as the director of Public Relations and Marketing as well
