A pensioner who died in a crash involving his car and an HGV lorry in Ayrshire has been named by police. ‌

Abraham Torrance, 70, from Kilmarnock , died following the incident on the A71 between the Corsehill Mount Roundabout and the Warrix Interchange, near Irvine on Thursday morning, July 31. ‌

Emergency services were called to the scene following the incident which involved a grey Kia Ceed and a white DAF HGV at around 11.10am. ‌

Mr Torrance, the driver of the Kia, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are continuing to appeal for information to establish the full circumstances of the crash and added that Mr Torrance's family have asked for privacy.
