WASHINGTON (NEXSTAR) - The balance of power in Washington could hinge on Texas, as the Republican-led state legislature tries to redraw its congressional map, but their plans are being blocked by Democrats who fled the state.
So far more than 50 Democrats have left the state to hold up the Republican redistricting plan.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott has threatened to remove members who don't show up.
Republicans in the Texas legislature are unable to pass a redrawn congressional map. After dozens of Texas Democrats fled the state preventing the GOP-house from advancing a plan pushed by President Trump aimed at adding five more Republican seats in Congress.
