CALVERT COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) -- A man is facing attempted murder charges after authorities say he attacked a woman and stabbed her inside the Southern Branch Library Monday morning.

Just minutes after 10 a.m. on Aug. 4, deputies with the Calvert County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) responded to the library on Tureman Road in Solomons for a stabbing.

Once inside, first responders found a woman who had been stabbed twice in her upper back. She was flown to the hospital, where she was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Additional deputies were called to the library, and authorities canvassed the area. During the search, they found the suspect, 33-year-old Eugene Terrill Harris of St. Leonard, near the library at the Solomons Fastop.
