Kenilworth locals have been thanked for helping police catch a shoplifter.

On Monday (August 4) a "bulk of items" was stolen from an unnamed supermarket in the town centre.

"The suspect thought they had got away," a Warwickshire Police statement said, "but with the help of some eagle eyed members of public we were able to locate the suspect hidden in a wooded area."

The suspect was arrested and £350 worth of items were retrieved.
