ATLANTA — Georgia is ranked the fifth worst in the country to have a baby, according to a new report from personal finance company WalletHub.

WalletHub evaluated all 50 states and the District of Columbia using 31 key measures of cost, health care, and accessibility of baby-friendliness.

The study considered factors such as hospital conventional-delivery charges, annual average infant-care costs, and pediatricians per capita.

Each metric was graded on a 100-point scale, with 100 representing the best conditions for expecting parents and newborns.

To determine overall rankings, WalletHub calculated the weighted average across all metrics and ranked them accordingly.
