MADISONVILLE, Ky. (WFIE) - Kentucky Transportation Cabinet officials say a contractor plans to block the U.S. 60 Wendell Ford Expressway in to continue work on a damaged prestressed concrete support beam.
According to a press release , the road closure is needed to make sure that potential falling debris is not a hazard to drivers.
Officials say traffic in both directions will be detoured off of U.S. 60 via the Carter Road exit ramps.
Personnel will be flagging traffic at the intersection of U.S. 60 and Carter Road in both directions. From there drivers can take the on-ramp to return to the expressway on the opposite side of the bridge.
The blockage is scheduled to last from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
