BROOKLYN HEIGHTS — MTA NEW YORK CITY TRANSIT MTA reopened the Clark Street 2 and 3 subway in Brooklyn Heights at 7:28 a.m. on Tuesday, following a closure caused by the collapse of a giant marquee maintained by the Hotel St. George.
“On behalf of riders, New York City Transit pushed hard for the building’s landlord and the city to rapidly work out a safe way for New Yorkers to access the station below,” NYC Transit President Demetrius Crichlow said in a release. “We appreciate Commissioner Oddo’s efforts to expedite necessary inspections so this busy station could resume service.”
The station closure was ordered by the NYC Department of Buildings Sunday, Aug. 3, after the collapse. See surveillance video of the collapse and photos of the emergency response.
