According to the USGS, the earthquake struck at 12:11 p.m. ET near Hillsdale.

So far, no damage has been reported.

NEW YORK - A 2.7-magnitude earthquake reportedly hit New Jersey, just outside of NYC, on Tuesday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

What we know:

According to preliminary USGS data, the earthquake, with a depth of about 7.7 miles, struck at 12:11 p.m. ET near Hillsdale, New Jersey, about 12 miles southwest of Manhattan. The latitude and longitude of the quake's epicenter point an address on Viola Terrace in nearby Westwood.

"Why did my building just shake again?" one X user posted shortly afterward.
