The Florida Department of Health (FDOH) has issued a public alert following a recent cluster of hospitalizations in Northeast and Central Florida linked to the consumption of raw, unpasteurized milk. The alert highlights the significant health risks associated with the product, which can harbor dangerous bacteria and lead to severe illness.

According to the FDOH, raw milk can contain a variety of disease-causing bacteria, including Campylobacter , E. coli , Listeria , and Salmonella . Consuming these pathogens can result in gastrointestinal illnesses characterized by symptoms such as diarrhea, vomiting, and stomach cramps.
