A powerful collaboration years in the making was celebrated recently at a community dinner held during the Native Futures College and Career Expo on Friday night at the Eagle Mountain Casino Convention Center. The event marked a significant milestone in educational equity and access for Tule River Reservation residents, honoring the transformative partnership between the Tule River Tribal Council and Porterville College.

The evening began in a meaningful and respectful way, grounded in cultural tradition. Tule River Council Member Heather Teran opened the event with a traditional blessing, followed by a blessing song that resonated throughout the venue. Afterward, guests were invited to enjoy a hearty meal of spaghetti and side salad as the evening’s program unfolded.
