The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), working with multiple law enforcement agencies, successfully rescued a two-month-old infant from an armed kidnapping suspect following a dangerous high-speed pursuit on August 3, 2025. The tense chase, which spanned three counties, concluded with a decisive PIT maneuver and the safe return of the child to their family.
The incident began around 4:00 p.m. when FHP was alerted to a kidnapping suspect, Maurtez Rashaad Edwards, wanted out of Georgia for the abduction of his own child.
