Annually, the first Tuesday of August sees National Night Out across the nation, a free community event that lets the public meet and interact with first responders in their neighborhood.

Several cities in the Ozarks are hosting events. Check out the list below for cities around the area hosting events.

Springfield

Runs from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at Meador Park (2500 S. Fremont Ave)

The event will have law enforcement, health and safety groups, as well as neighborhood associations present.

The event features a live DJ, crime and safety info booths, police and fire vehicle tours, and more.

Nixa

Nixa's National Night Out is being held at the X Center Pool (701 N Taylor Way) from 6-8 p.m.
