INDIANAPOLIS — Indianapolis Colts head coach Shane Steichen said Anthony Richardson will start at quarterback over Daniel Jones in the team's first preseason game.

Steichen made the announcement Tuesday, Aug. 5 during a news conference ahead of the Thursday, Aug. 7 game against the Baltimore Ravens.

According to Steichen, Richardson will play for approximately a quarter and a half, and then Jones will play for approximately half a quarter.

Steichen said the two will then switch, with Jones starting in the next game on Saturday, Aug. 16 against the Green Bay Packers.

The New York Giants made Jones the No. 6 overall draft pick in 2019. He became the starter in Week 3 of his rookie season, and after struggling for three years, he led the Giants to the playoffs in 2022. New York rewarded
