CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - One of four men charged in a North Charleston corruption investigation has taken a plea agreement after pleading not guilty in March.

Court documents show Hason “Tory” Fields pleaded guilty to the first three counts of the initial indictment, including conspiracy to commit bribery, bribery and wire fraud.

Court documents show that he must pay restitution and could face up to 35 years in federal prison.

An indictment claims that Fields was paid by a boat manufacturing business in an effort to win support for rezoning a property for a planned facility.

The indictment also shows that Fields was told “to make something happen” in return for support of the project.
