TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — It’s a painful sight for people who’ve spent years fighting to save the Jackson House in downtown Tampa.

Once a safe haven for Black travelers during segregation, the more-than-century-old boarding home is now quite literally falling apart. A large portion of siding on the second floor collapsed over the weekend

Advocates said this is a sign that time is running out to preserve what’s left.
