PORTSMOUTH, R.I. (WLNE) — The Portsmouth Police Department said a Providence woman was arrested after she was allegedly driving under the influence with a blood alcohol content over three times the legal limit.

43-year-old Ameena Gatlin was charged with driving under the influence with a BAC of .15 or greater.

On Aug. 1, police responded to a crash at West Main Road and Union Street just after 9 a.m.

During the investigation, Gatlin took a chemical breath test, which allegedly registered her BAC at .245% and .240%.

Gatlin was arrested and charged.
