(NewsNation) — A former security guard for the NBA's Miami Heat has been charged with transporting and transferring stolen goods.

Marcos Thomas Perez, 62, stands accused of stealing millions of dollars' worth of game-worn jerseys and other Heat memorabilia during his time with the team between 2016 to 2021. He is alleged to have shipped the stolen items across state lines.

The stolen products allegedly included more than 400 game jerseys, one of which was a game-worn LeBron James NBA Finals jersey.

A raid of Perez's home revealed almost 300 game-worn jerseys, according to the Justice Department.

Perez is a 25-year veteran of the Miami Police Department. The Miami Heat confirmed to the DOJ that these items were stolen.
