SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - A man is in the hospital Tuesday evening after a shooting on Kensington Avenue in Springfield.

According to Springfield Police, officers were called to the 100 block of Kensington Avenue at approximately 6:20 p.m. on Tuesday following a ShotSpotter activation. When officers arrived in the area, they found a man with a gunshot wound.

The victim was brought to Baystate Medical Center to be treated for his injuries, but he is expected to recover. The Springfield Police Department’s Detective Bureau has launched an investigation into the incident.
