The Orioles post-deadline blues continued on Tuesday night in Philadelphia. They lost yet again, their third loss in a row and fourth in five tries.

From the perspective of an Orioles fan, there was nothing fun about this game. Dean Kremer was not terrible, but he had one bad inning early, and given the state of the team’s offense, that felt like enough to sink them. Speaking of that offense, they collected just five hits—all of which were singles—and did not walk once while striking out 10 times. So there was never even the inkling of a comeback.

Kremer’s bad inning came in the second. He allowed a one-out single to Nick Castellanos, balked him over to second, and then allowed a run-scoring double from Brandon Marsh. Max Kepler yanked a down-and-in fastball to right-center for a two-run
