Early results for the Aug. 5 primary election are in for two Federal Way races and more, according to King County Elections.

In the race for mayor, incumbent Jim Ferrell is leading with 55.87% of the vote with Federal Way City Councilmember Susan Honda coming in second with 22.76%. Challengers Saudia Abdullah has 14.38% of the vote and Chris Chung as 6.66%.

Abdullah has so far raised $39,215, Honda has raised $25,954 and Jim Ferrell has raised $132,942.

While three Federal Way City Council positions will be on the ballot in November, only one (Position 2) required a primary race to narrow down candidates this year.

For Position 2, Martin Moore is leading the race with 67.32% of the vote, followed by Nathan Orth at 17.58% and incumbent Paul McDaniel at 14.69%.
