BRISTOL, R.I. (WLNE) — The Bristol Fire Department said a vacant house collapsed during a fire on Narrows Road on Aug. 4.

Firefighters responded to the home after getting a call around 1:15 a.m.

Upon arrival, crews discovered the porch and front of the home in flames.

Officials said the second floor of the home collapsed onto the first floor, causing a “defense operation.”

After about an hour, firefighters were able to get the fire under control.

Officials said the building was vacant and nobody was injured.

The State Fire Marshall’s Office is investigating.
