SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - We already knew that Notre Dame has one of the best running back rooms in the nation, but on Tuesday we got some confirmation from the Doak Walker Award.

The Irish had three players named as preseason candidates for the prestigious honor. The award is given annually to the best running back in college football.

Juniors Jeremiyah Love and Jadarian Price, as well as sophomore Aneyas Williams are all trying to become the school’s first finalist since Reggie Brooks back in 1992.

Notre Dame is the only school in the country to have three players named to the preseason list.
