The San Juan County Elections Office is notifying the public of a special three-day filing period from Aug. 11 through Aug. 13, for candidates to file for the five-member board of the proposed Lopez Island Park and Recreation District and for those offices where no candidates filed during the regular candidate filing week. If there is still a void in candidacy after the special three-day filing period, the office will not appear on the Nov. 4 General Election ballot.
