The Orioles were forced to sell at the trade deadline after failing to recover from a brutal start.

Before pulling the trigger on the first deal, Baltimore went through an excruciating period when the team technically still had time to recover but without any margin for error. The Orioles needed to win every close game, and it definitely could not afford any new injuries.
