BUDLONG WOODS — A developer who wants to construct an apartment building a few blocks west of the West Ridge Nature Park is asking the community what they’d like to see on the first floor if city officials approve the plan.

Developer Sal Siraj of Chicago Equity Partners is proposing a six-story building at 2434 W. Bryn Mawr Ave., which is currently a parking lot.

The building would have a total of 33 apartments. Seven of the apartments would be affordable and 26 would be market rate, satisfying the city’s Affordable Requirements Ordinance, according to plans shared with Ald. Andre Vasquez’s (40th) office.

Vasquez has not yet weighed in on the proposal. His office hosted a virtual community Monday where Siraj pitched the plan to neighbors.
