Michigan’s quarterback battle is taking center stage during the team’s preseason camp.

While five-star freshman Bryce Underwood is garnering the most attention after enrolling early and receiving the bulk of the reps during spring practices, the room has become more crowded this fall.

Fresno State graduate transfer Mikey Keene is reportedly back practicing again after missing the spring because of injury, while Michigan also added East Carolina transfer Jake Garcia.

Head coach Sherrone Moore said during Big Ten media days last month that the quarterback battle remains an “open competition,” but MLive’s Aaron McMann believes there is a clear frontrunner.
