The St. Clair Board of Aldermen confirmed the appointment of Detective Lt. John Sikes, a nearly 20-year veteran of the St. Clair Police Department, to serve as its interim chief and city marshal.
Sikes takes over from former Chief Mike Wirt, who retired May 15. The position is an elected office in St. Clair, so Sikes’ appointment lasts for the duration of Wirt’s unexpired term, through April 7, 2026. Mayor Brad Dulworth brought the appointment before the board Monday night, and Sikes was sworn in Tuesday morning. ×
