CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Jason Henry Tetter II, a 25-year-old from Cedar Rapids, has been sentenced to 18 months in federal prison for making a false statement during an attempted firearm purchase. Federal prosecutors say Tetter pleaded guilty in March to buying two firearms for Daquavion Williams, a marijuana user under 21 years old, in 2024. Tetter, also a marijuana user, lied about his drug use and the true purchaser on the firearm purchase forms. One of the firearms was used in a shooting in Waterloo on August 10, 2024. Five days later, Tetter attempted to buy another firearm for someone else involved in the shooting. Williams was subsequently charged with firearm offenses and is currently pending sentencing.
