Commissioner Jerry McFarland is accused of stalking Wilson County Television Director Kristy Haffner, according to a court clerk filing. McFarland has appealed the order of protection and a motion for contempt.

Sumner County Judge Ron Blanton was appointed to the case after judge recusal in Wilson County, citing a potential conflict of interest. Blanton signed the order of protection on July 24, after a hearing.
