PORTLAND, Ore. — As part of a crackdown on fentanyl trafficking in downtown Portland, police officers arrested a Honduran national living illegally in Oregon who was this week sentenced to 70 months in a federal prison.

Ermin Izaguirre-Estrada (22) pleaded guilty to two counts of possession with intent to distribute fentanyl on April 30, 2025, resolving both his criminal case in Oregon and another in California, where he was also charged with selling the opioid.

According to court documents, police officers observed Izaguirre-Estrada holding what appeared to be blue fentanyl pills in his hand on August 9, 2023, during a fentanyl enforcement mission targeting dealers in downtown Portland.
