Pike County, Ala. (WDHN) -- On August 5, 2025, Chelsey Redmon-Zellers appeared before the Honorable Sonny Reagan in the Circuit Court of Pike County and entered a guilty plea to the charge of Manslaughter for the death of her unborn, full-term son on March 18, 2023.

District Attorney James Tarbox represented the State of Alabama. Following a sentencing hearing, Redmon-Zellers was sentenced to 15 years in the Alabama Department of Corrections according to an agreement with the District Attorney’s Office.

According to the State, a fully developed baby boy was delivered stillborn at Medical Center Enterprise after Redmon-Zellers was transferred from Troy Regional Medical Center, where no fetal heartbeat could be detected.
