DOTHAN, Ala (WDHN) -- The flooded Shiloh Community is looking towards a bright future after receiving a generous gift from a friend.

The Shiloh community center received $50,000 from the Texas Southern Bullard Center to help continue their fight for justice to resolve their flooding nightmare.

"We only had a little money to operate with and travel with to go and talk about what's going on in Shiloh. It's a blessing when Dr. Bullard said I want to take my personal funds to give to y'all to operate," said Pastor Timothy Williams.

The hefty donation comes after Dr. Bullard won a national visionary award from the Urban Land Institute that came with $100,000, giving half to a community in his hometown.
