Outfielder Roman Anthony and the Red Sox are in the process of finalizing an eight-year, $130 million contract extension, a source told MLB.com's Mark Feinsand on Wednesday.

The team has not confirmed the deal, which includes a club option and keeps Anthony under club control through 2034.

Anthony, 21, was the No. 1 overall prospect in the game when he made his MLB debut on June 9, and he has been a key contributor to Boston's rise into postseason contention, hitting .283/.400/.428 with two home runs and 19 RBIs in 46 games.
